How We Use AI
AI-created stories and illustrations
Every Sparktale book is written and illustrated with the help of AI. We use Google Gemini models to write the story text and to paint the illustrations, based on the details you share in the creation wizard — your child's first name, age, chosen theme, and art style.
Your child's photo
Adding a photo is optional. If you add one, it is used for a single purpose: helping the AI draw a character that looks like your child, consistently across pages. Photos are automatically deleted from our servers within 14 days, and we never use your photos to train AI models.
What the AI sees — and what it never sees
The AI receives only what is needed to create your book: the details you enter in the wizard and, if provided, the photo. It never sees your payment details (handled by Stripe), your account credentials, or your order history.
You stay in control
AI drafts, you decide. Before any purchase you can read the whole book, edit any text, and regenerate illustrations you don't love. Nothing is printed or shipped until you have reviewed it and placed the order yourself.
Safety and originality
Our generation pipeline has family-friendly guardrails: content is kept age-appropriate, and characters are original creations — we do not imitate copyrighted characters, and your child stays the hero of an original story.
Deletion and your rights
You can request deletion of your account and books, or an export of your data, at any time from your account page. For details on your rights and how we protect your data, see our GDPR and Privacy Policy pages.
